Setting Attitude Goals - Habitat 17

This week habitat 17 have set some goals based on Attitude. We used the I CARE posters and rubrics to choose an attitude goal to work on for the term. 

We were challenged by Mrs Matuku and Mr Allison to present our goals with illustrations in our learning journals.

Cubs visit to ambulance station By Luke

I went to the ambulance station On Wednesday for cubs i went inside a ambulance and the lights were bright.

the sirince were so LOUD

we learnt to help someone with a broken arm or leg

when i volintared to test a mechine when it was turn off i got pail but soon i got better

going inside the ambulance was cool there was a bed for the sick people and 2 other sets🚑🚑🚑💼📉📈📊

Chapter 1 dinosaur invade

One day dinosaurs came alive from millions of years ago and what they did was wreck all human life .but some people survived the dinosaur gang and they were the only people to save the world.they said we need to do this so what they did was they got their gear out and started building a shelter after that they went hunting for food and water then they said  dinosaur time.

Chapter 2 the dinosaurs revenge

Let's go hunt some dinosaurs! Armour on everyone yesssss they were walking around looking for dinosaurs and then rawww they saw a dinosaur. let's take it on bam bom bam yay our first dinosaur victory let's go back to the house before any other dinosaurs came to wreak us. feffff we got back home in time let's drink some water before all the dinosaurs come out.

Chapter 3 the dinosaur apocalypse.

ohno a dinosaur apocalypse what do we do we fight we do whatever we can do to save the world.bam one dinosaur down one million left nooooooooooo we lost one of our team mates one down four to go let's get back home.feed we got back home in time before the dinosaurs did.

Chapter 4 like a wrecking ball.

Hi everyone, this blog is about a story that I wrote about a fishing comp that I went to. It was fun and i enjoyed it 😀😃😊 :]

The Fishing Comp

On Saturday I went to my Grandads house with my dad and my brothers we stand there for the night. The next morning we had to get up at 6:00. We had breakfast then we went to the boat ramp to go fishing. We got our tickets then we got in the boat. The first fish we got was my brothers fish. It was a nice big gurnard. Then I nearly got a kawhai but it got of the line. When we were about to get it in the boat then we keep getting baby snapper that we had to chuck back in the water. Then my dad nearly got a gurnard but it got away. When we went back we won a whole lot of prizes like fishing stuff and some other stuff.

Shave for a Cure By Cleo

Hi I'm cleo and I'm doing shave for a cure.Shave for a cure is a fundraiser for leukaemia and blood cancer.The hair that comes out of it is made into wigs so people with cancer who are too embarrassed to go in public with no hair can wear the wigs and can go in public and not be embarrassed by the way they look.The money that you fundraise goes to the leukaemia charity to fund research and patient support programmes.

When I do shave for a cure before everyone comes my mum will braid a little bit of my hair I'll cut that bit off and keep that bit of hair.

One of my family members have leukaemia.he has had it for 5 years and is still carrying on with life even though he's still on medication and had many treatments to help him stay alive and well.So that's why I'm doing shave for a cure.

Xrace for habitat 17 by Marc & Kirsten

For Homelink I created an X race for habitat 17 because on Sunday I did the X race with my mum. I thought I could do one for the class. The X race is a race with 10 challenges what are really difficult.

XRace Challenges

You have to do the XRace in groups of two. You have to stay together all the time.

The winner is the team who has finished all challenges the fastes.

Challenge 1:

Pushing a tennis ball forward for 5

meters just with your nose.

Challenge 2:

Make a paper plane which has to fly 7 meters.

Challenge 3:

One partner is blindfolded and the other has to guide the blindfolded partner through a maze, not touching just using the voice.

Challenge 4:

You have to answer 5 questions correct

Challenge 5:

Get together with two more partners and you have to pass a soccer ball 6 time to each other without the ball touching the ground.

Challenge 6:

Use a ribbon and bind together one leg of each partner and run together 25 meters.

Challenge 7:

You have to solve a riddle

Challenge 8:

You have to perform some dance steps from the video

My Egyptian Story by Maya

This is my story.

It is from Egyptian mythology and it deals with honesty and fairness.

I have done this because Habitat 17 did some skits about honesty.

The Battle between Heru Sa Aset and Set.

NOTE:At school on 22.02,my class got into groups and made skits about honesty.So for home link,I have re-written a story from Egyptian Mythology that deals with the same subject of honesty and Fairness.

HERU SA ASET	SET

Set,the envious god,was the uncle of Heru Sa Aset,son of Usir and Aset.Before,Set had murdered Usir,by putting him in a coffin that was just his size,closing it tight,and threw it into the ocean. Usir then died,because of lack of air in the tight coffin,and he fled down to Duat,the underworld.Because Usir used to be the king of Egypt,and he was now dead,Set had the throne all to himself!All to himself!

Uh oh!Is THAT what should have happened?

No!Heru Sa Aset should have gotten the throne!He was Usir's son!

So Heru Sa Aset went to Set and asked him to give him the throne.

But Set didn't move.

Not even a little.

"If you want the throne,FIGHT ME!"Set shouted.

"Sure!"

"FIGHT!!!"

The goddess Nit,Warrior goddess and weaver of the cosmos,took Heru Sa Aset's side,and the battle started!

Wait,Before the battle started,The great pesedjet,the nine great gods of Egypt,looked like they were on Sets side,and that made it look like Set was going to keep his throne!

Aset,Heru Sa Aset's mother,was VERY sad.She disguised herself,and went to Set,saying to him,"I am a widow,and a stranger has taken over my son's land and threatened my son.Can you help me?"

Doesn't that sound like Aset's story?

But Set refused.

He was cold-blooded,and called Aset a villain.

Aha!Aset revealed her true identity!

Set SHOULD have admitted that he made a mistake.

But he didn't!

Not even on syllable!

Instead,he continued fighting!

That battle raged in for 80 years,and Set even plucked out one of Heru Sa Aset's eyes!

So Hut Heru,the very eye of Ra,the sun god,brought milk from the milky way and poured it into Heru Sa Aset's eye.

Instantly,his eye grew back!

He continued fighting.

In one part,The found a lake,and Heru Sa Aset said,"We can each make a boat out of rock,and float it across the water and fight."

"Ok!"

So they each made a boat out of rock.

Set made a boat out of real rock,but Heru Sa Aset made one of plywood,and painted it to look like rock.

Of course,Heru Sa Aset's floated,while Set's sunk.

Finally,Heru Sa Aset won,and was crowned the king of Egypt.

The end.

Habitat 17 have been given a area to look after,  as well as the rest of the school there is about 3 spaces all classes do one that means that we are not the only habitat doing ours. Ours is the field. In the afternoon we went for a little rubbish pick up. Guess what we found. A plastic bag to put the rubbish in. Take a look at what we found
